THE COMPATIBLE EDGE WORKSHOP

Seamloom

One curve. A whole cloth.

Make three seamless studies, then build your own collection.

Choose a family and bend an edge. Its matching copies change automatically so neighboring tiles fit. Save a curved study in each of the three families to complete the workshop. Reopen saved designs and compare how their seams repeat.

The repeated cloth

Every outlined copy uses the same compatible edge family.

Why the edges fit

Translated pairs share an arbitrary two-control-point curve. Half-turn seams require the second control point to be the rotated image of the first. Mirror seams reflect the first control point. Straight edges stay straight. These constraints are applied by Tactile’s isohedral transforms to every copy, rather than by drawing a decorative pattern over a grid.

Bends are kept small to avoid folds and crossing seams in these three families. A saved design stays in this browser; no download or account is required.
